Terror on the Thames brings free trick or treating to Henley's shops, 11am to 3pm on Saturday 31 October. Stonor's pumpkin trail and Kenton shows below.

Henley’s own Halloween is Terror on the Thames, on Saturday 31 October from 11am to 3pm: free trick or treating round the town centre’s shops, run by Experience Henley. It is a daytime event and there is no fireworks display in Henley this year. For a pumpkin patch, the closest is Stonor Park, about five miles north of the town, which runs a Halloween trail on two weekends and through half term.

The quick answer

  • Terror on the Thames: Saturday 31 October 2026, 11am to 3pm, Henley town centre, free. Look for shops with black and orange balloons.
  • Nearest pumpkin patch: Stonor Park, 17 and 18 October and daily from 24 October to 1 November. Entry from £11, pumpkin picking and decorating £5 extra.
  • Halloween at the Kenton: The Spooktastic Halloween Show, Wednesday 28 October, 11.30am and 2pm, from £12.
  • Half term is Monday 26 to Friday 30 October, so Halloween falls on the last Saturday of the holiday.

Terror on the Thames, Saturday 31 October

Experience Henley, the town’s business group, has published the 2026 date: Saturday 31 October, 11am to 3pm, in Henley town centre, free. Children in costume trick or treat at the shops displaying black and orange balloons. The organiser asks families to bring a food item to donate, and in return the child gets a trick or treat bag. Around the town centre there are activities supporting local charities, “creepy trails, stocks, music, apple bobbing”, in the organiser’s words (Experience Henley, Terror on the Thames).

Not published yet: which shops are taking part, where the trails start, and any costume competition. The listing says “more updates to follow”. Questions go to info@experiencehenley.co.uk.

The 2025 event ran from 11am to 4pm on Saturday 1 November, so this year’s finishes an hour earlier. It is a Saturday in half term, so expect the town car parks to be busy: our parking in Henley page has every car park, its limits and prices.

Stonor Park: Halloween trail and pumpkin patch

Halloween at Tumblestone Hollow runs at Stonor Park, RG9 6HF, on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October, then every day from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November (Stonor Park, Halloween at Tumblestone Hollow). What the ticket covers:

  • The Hollow Trail, through Spider Hollow, the Skeleton Party, Witches Clearing and Ghost Wood, with eight riddles to solve for a secret Halloween word and a chocolate treat at the end.
  • The Hollow Tales, live storytelling at 11am, 1pm and 3pm each day in the adventure playground.
  • Hunt the Lost Raven, twelve hiding places around Tumblestone Hollow.
  • Pumpkin picking and decorating in the Crafty Shack, £5 extra per pumpkin.

Stonor’s prices start at £12 for adults (over 16), £13 for children from 5, £11 for 3 and 4 year olds, and under-2s go free. Stonor lists them as “from” prices, so check the price for your day when you book on Stonor’s own page. Fancy dress is encouraged.

Halloween shows at the Kenton

The Kenton Theatre on New Street has two Halloween shows in half term, both from the theatre’s own listings (Kenton Theatre, what’s on):

  • The Spooktastic Halloween Show, Wednesday 28 October, 11.30am and 2pm. An hour of songs, “magical mayhem” and panto-style audience joining in from the Dantastic team. Tickets £12 and £14, including the Kenton’s booking fee and levies. The theatre notes last year’s run sold out (Kenton Theatre).
  • StageWorks: Sp00ky Season, Sunday 1 November, 5pm. The Henley stage school’s show, written by Mark Hampshire, with the town’s own ghost story, Mary Blandy, at its centre. £20.75 and £25.75, 1 hour 45 minutes, and seats were marked “limited” when we checked on 3 October (Kenton Theatre).

On Halloween night itself the Kenton has Dom Joly’s Trigger Happy TV tour at 7.30pm, which is sold out, with a waiting list on the theatre’s page.

Pumpkin patches further afield

Beale Wildlife Park pumpkin patch

Beale Wildlife Park at Lower Basildon, RG8 9NW, opens its Pumpkin Patch from 10am to 3pm every day from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November. It is included in park admission, and so are a decorated Halloween woodland walk and a maize maze. The pumpkins themselves are paid for separately. Each day there are spooky crafts from 11am to 2pm and a mini-beasts session at 2pm, plus a £1 Halloween trail (Beale Wildlife Park, Pumpkin Patch 2026).

Park admission booked in advance is £17.50 for an adult and £15.50 for a child, or £56 for two adults and two children; every ticket costs £2 more on the day, and under-2s are free (Beale Wildlife Park, tickets).

Copas Farms, Cookham: pick your own pumpkins

The Fruit Fields at Copas Farms, off Long Lane, Cookham, SL6 9RF, open their pumpkin fields on 3 and 4, 10 and 11, and 17 and 18 October, then every day from 23 to 31 October, from 10am. Entry is a £4 timed ticket per person aged 2 and over, booked in advance, which also covers the maize maze. The pumpkins are extra: £1.20 a kilo, and squash £1.50 each for small ones or £1.95 a kilo for larger ones. No dogs, except guide dogs. Copas warns that the date and time on a ticket cannot be changed (Copas Farms, pick your own).

Didcot Railway Centre: The Pumpkin Express

Steam train rides, a mystery pumpkin trail, trick or treat surprises and a Ghost Carriage at Didcot through half term (Didcot Railway Centre). Which days have steam and what each costs is set out on our October half term page.

Fireworks

There is no bonfire or fireworks display in Henley in 2026. The nearest big one is Wallingford’s, on Saturday 7 November from 6pm on the Kinecroft: our Henley fireworks page has the times, the suggested donation and the £3 train from Cholsey.

Getting about

Road works and closures that week are on Henley roadworks and travel. Stonor is on the B480 north of Henley, and Beale Park is off the A329 between Pangbourne and Streatley. The full week of things to do is on our October half term page, and the six-week diary on what’s on in Henley.

Still to be confirmed

Experience Henley has not yet named the shops or the route for Terror on the Thames. We will update this page when it does, expected in mid-October.

Every date and price checked on the organiser’s own page on 3 October 2026.
